by Sue on Aug.17, 2010, under Oil Prices
Well, unfortunately todays prices rose. They started up overnight, and although they ended up down, it was down from their high on the day, not down from yesterday.
Crude was up overal 24 cents, and home heating oil prices were up nearly 4 cents.
Wrong way people.
Oil Prices Today Aug 16, 2010

Geez, it has been a long while since I posted. The prices have been going up, up, up, and it was just plain depressing. I am sure you have all noticed that gasoline has risen steadily all summer. The same was true of home heating oil. There has been a lovely downward trend for the past week, maybe 10 days. Today for the first time the price for a gallon of home heating oil is under $ 2,00. Thank Goodness. Hopefully at the close of the market today it will be down again. The prices posted here reflect Fridays close and foreign trading, etc after our markets closed on Friday as well as the current trading prices. I will try to amend the post this evening so the market price is current. The home heating oil price will not reflect todays close until tomorrow, as usual.

04/10 Close | 1.9542 | Heating Oil | 8/16/10 Close | 1.9505 | up 3 .22 |
Bear in minde, that the up reflects the difference from my last post which was very back in June. My most hunmble apologies. It is down 18 cents per gallon for home heating oil from Friday’s close and more than a dollar on the crude barrel price. Definitely the right direction, DOWN.

The market was up and down today, ending at 9816.49, down 115.96. Crude closed down 15 cents and heating oil basically stayed the same. Home heating oil ,on the other hand, dropped 7 cents per gallon at Larsen Oil, and was up 4 cents at Pulliam.
I, for one, hope the price of oil continues to go down. I would love to buy my winter oil for under 2.00 gallon. Under one dollar a gallon would be even better.
Warm weather may be here for a day or two. I sure hope so. I am well and truly ready for some nice sunshine.

Prices rose a lot the past week, fell alot today. Down 326 today. Still up from the end of May. I, for one, am hoping for more price drops, and lowering oil prices. The oil spill crisis, the still crumbling economy, with the only jobs being added being part time temporary jobs many relating to the oil spill, there is absoulutely no reason for optimism and rising oil prices. In my humble opinion.

Well oddly enough, the prices did not fall too far today. Strange as it was a volatile day for the market. Some of the prices for crude were down as much as 2.00 and home heating oil was down nearly 6 cents at one point but after a wild ride the market climbed from down well over 200 points to 22 down and our precious oil prices did not change by much. Hope for a larger drop tomorrow.
