Friday Dec 11, 2009 Oil Prices Today

by on Dec.11, 2009, under Oil Prices

Today we broke another record.  15 degrees this morning at the airport.  About 12 on our back porck.  Supposed to snow tonight, then freezing rain, then rain and warmer temps.  Personally, I am sorry the cold is going.  I LOVE the cold clear days.  It is so beautiful.

I was surprised that Larsen price did not change,  and Pulliam dropped the 200 gallon price 4 cents per gallon, and 400 by 1 cent.  It is cheaper than when we bought in October.

Larsen Oil 503 281 0003   200g 2.23 400g 2.20 no change
Pulliam Oil 503 564 4968   200g 2.20 400g 2.18 down .04 + .01
——————————————————————————————————————————————————-
12/10/09 Close 70.44 Crude   12/11/09 Close  69.64   down  0.80
12/10/09 Close 1.9008 Heating Oil   12/11/09 Close  1.9077   up .0069

Well not much change today, darn it.  but crude dropped almost a dollar.  and home heating oil went up less than 1 cent.  Prices SHOULD stay the same for Monday.  We shall see.  Today’s prices are cheaper than when we bought our fuel the first week of October.  We paid 2.25 per gallon for 225 gallons.  I want the prices to DROP so I can buy some more after the first of the year.  I did manage to wait until Thanksgiving day to turn on the furnace though, that was a good thing.

The market price dropped overnight and it is dropping still this morning.  I hope it continues downward, and that the home heating oil price drops some more.

Dec. 09, 2009 Oil Prices

by on Dec.09, 2009, under Oil Prices

This morning the temperature at 8am, or so was 10 degrees. Official temp was 12.  Not as windy. It warmed up to an official temp or 30, not quite that warm at our house.

Hmm, yesterday there was a slight drop in heating oil and crude oil by the time the market closed.  And strangely, Larsen raised their prices 3 cents in response to the 2 cent drop.  Pulliam remains the same as yesterday.  Today the market price seems to be dropping.

Larsen Oil 503 281 0003   200g 2.29 400g 2.26 up  .03
Pulliam Oil 503 564 4968   200g 2.28 400g 2.26 no change
——————————————————————————————————————————————————-
12/08/09 Close 72.77 Crude   12/09/09 Close  70.65   down  2.12
12/08/09 Close 2.0185 Heating Oil   12/09/09 Close  1.9209   down  .0711

Olay,  heating oil at market close was more than 7 cents per gallon down.  And crude lost more than 2.00 per barrel.  So …….. home heating oil SHOULD drop significantly in the morning.  We shall see.

Dec. 08, 2009 Heating Oil Prices Today

by on Dec.08, 2009, under Oil Prices

The low temp this morning was 13, the high today was 28.

I said I thought the price might drop for todays consumers and it did, a little bit.  That is most definitely a good thing.

Larsen Oil 503 281 0003   200g 2.26 400g 2.23 down  .03
Pulliam Oil 503 564 4968   200g 2.28 400g 2.26 up  .02
——————————————————————————————————————————————————-
12/07/09 Close 73.98 Crude   12/08/09 Close  72.77   down  1.21
12/07/09 Close 2.0198 Heating Oil   12/08/09 Close  2.0185   down  .0265

So prices did drop today.  1.21 down for crude oil, and a little more than 2 cents for heating oil.  Prices should drop for tomorrow.  Probably 2 cents.  We shall see if I am learning anything and if my prediction is correct tomorrow.

I love the cold weather.  It will be more fun if we get some nice snow, and really cold weather for Christmas.  I think I will get all my shopping done this next week and then we will be ready for it when it comes.  I am dreaming of a White Christmas, and I am not referring to a drink, although that is okay too!

Dec. 07, 2009 Oil Prices Today

by on Dec.07, 2009, under Oil Prices

Friday, the day before our party was pretty warm.  Cooler at night.  Was slightly below freezing Friday night.  Saturday was cool, all day long.  The cold weather they are threatening is here, or darn close.  I think the high was Saturday was about 38 and the low about 29.  Sunday the 6th, the east wind started to blow.  It was howling all day long, and driving in cold air from the gorge.  The temp was low, I think the high was about 34 and the low about 23 or so.  Monday morning when Dan and Rosemary left it was about 20 or so.  They returned home to -23 F.  We were not that cold.  The temperature dropped most of the day.

Well I messed up Friday, and did not collect any info at all.  So today, I will use today’s opening prices and closing prices.  Hopefully I will be back on track and do a better job in the days to come.

Larsen Oil 503 281 0003   200g 2.29 400g 2.26 no change
Pulliam Oil 503 564 4968   200g 2.26 400g 2.24 no change
——————————————————————————————————————————————————-
12/07/09 Close 75.47 Crude   12/07/09 Close  73.98   down 1.49
12/07/09 Close 2.0360 Heating Oil   12/07/09 Close  2.0198   down  .0185

Okay, prices did fall today,  almost 2 cents for home heating oil, and 1.49 for crude.  So we should see a slight drop in price for home heating oil tomorrow.
