Sammy: In Memoriam

Sammy lived where my Aunt works, and sadly he passed away a couple of weeks ago after a long and comfortable life.  I’d taken a few shots of him over the years and his friends at Gateway asked that I put a few of them up on the website.

I have been remiss in my duties until now.

These are all of the shots that I have found of Sammy so far.  If I come across any additional pics, I will post them as well.

I hope all of Sammy’s friends can find some happiness and comfort in these photos.

Thanks again, tho that “Goodbye Samster” comment made me cry. And the Laker win hasn’t exactly made my day. But I am glad that Ron Artest had a good game tonight and that he got to win a championship. Such unadulterated happiness. I wish he played for a team I liked.

Screw Ron Artest, and the whole Laker squad.

I know he was a wildchild, and stll is colorful to say the least, but in the play-offs last year he was the one who called for silence when his home-town fans were jeering and booing the Blazers, and demanded respect for the losing team. He has manned up and made fun of himself, never glossing over his transgressions – though it’s hard to deny a crime on film, I admit. I’m not saying he deserves sainthood, just credit for changing his errant ways. Unlike Sheed. It’s hard to stand up and say you were an asshole, and actually turn an undeserved second chance into a success. No wonder he was so ecstatic.

Thank you thank you thank you. We were so excited to find this today! It made our week. We don’t have much excitement around here. Thank you again!
